The Alastair Wood Band is one of Scotland’s top wedding bands and is a firm favourite with many venues. The band appears regularly on the BBC Radio Scotland show "Take the Floor" as well as playing at events up and down the country.
As well as being one of Scotland's top wedding bands, Alastair and his band are also a top Ceilidh band. The band perform modern pop music, Scottish music, rock classics and are masters at getting everyone dancing and enjoying themselves.
In addition to performing Scottish music to very high standards, Alastair and the band can also provide modern numbers ranging from Van Morrison to Robbie Williams and Barry White to The Blues Brothers! So they can give you Ceilidh music for one half of the evening and modern music for the other half, or any mix you want.
The usual line-up for the band is 4 or 5-piece with 2 accordions, fiddle, guitar and drums. Alastair's band is unusual in having a guitar instead of the more regular keyboard; however, this gives the band a distinctive sound and a very wide repertoire.
The Alistair Wood band are quite simply a great band with a very broad repertoire and they are the perfect band for Weddings, Functions, Ceilidhs, and anything else you can think of.
